Ricardo Alexandre is a journalist and Deputy Director of TSF radio since 2018, where he presents the program “O Estado do Sítio“.
He has been a professional journalist since 1989 and has worked for twenty-five years on the RDP/RTP television channel, including as Deputy Director of Radio Information and, recently, as International Politics Editor. He covered wars and post-conflict situations, as well as elections, in several parts of the world.
Ricardo Alexandre holds a Ph.D. in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations, a master’s degree in Societies and European Policies and a degree in Sociology.
He was Guest Professor at Lusófona University of Lisbon and Guest Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra.
He is an integrated researcher of the Center for International Studies of the Lisbon University Institute and a collaborating researcher of Observare – Foreign Relations Observatory of the Autonomous University of Lisbon.
He has published articles in several national and international newspapers and magazines and has been recognized with the Radio Reportage Award of the Portuguese Press Club and the Radio Reporter Award of the Casa da Imprensa / Prémio Maria Leonor.
He is the co-author of the book “Global Vision – Conversations to Understand the World” with José Cutileiro. He is the author of the books “João Aguardela – This Life of Sailor”, “Iran: The Nuclear Country”, “Palestine, Living in the Intifada” and “For a Normal Life – War and Peace in Yugoslavia”.
